Some Crazy Dudes

Thanks to James Jennett for today's link to Trials Kings, and in particular the movies section. In James' words, these guys are "Nuttier Than Squirrel Shit". I can't help but agree.

The videos have the effect of making me feel both old and boringly unadvanterous. There's no way you'd catch me doing anything like that. I barely even ride down steps nowadays.

Apologies for contacting you this way, but I couldn't find an email address for you.

Anyway - here's the thing:

I've been in the throes of pulling together a blog of my own covering local interest stuff (I'm from Blyth, Northumberland) such as pub reviews, local photography, walks, as well as my main hobby - coarse angling.

I've just taken up MTB'ing a month ago as a way of losing weight and also getting out and about and have just bought myself a Marin Palisades Trail for this purpose.

I'm planning on doing a similar thing to you in terms of reviews of kit and rides I've undertaken.

I'm currently using B2 as my Blog software and I find it quite basic - for that reason I feel I'm not being inspired to update the Blog which is a shame because I really want to get into it more.

I surfed into your site by pure chance, looking for info on Hamsterley trails, and reckon of all the Blogs I've seen (which is a lot!) that your's looks the dog's wotsits !!

Can you tell me what software you're using, please?

Thanks

Alan

No worries Alan. I'll mail you separetely, but, for the record, this site runs on TypePad http://www.typepad.com with a few simple mods to the design.

That's just insane. Cool, but wicked insane. I noticed a couple of tips you can apply to your own technique, though, Jake.

- remove the seat
- use the breaks a LOT
- don't fall

Can't wait to get my bike out for the summer. :-)
