Leaving anything 'til the last minute is never a good idea is it? It's the day before the day before we move and our buyers can not by found. It's looking unlikely we are going to be able to complete on Friday. In the words of the Pet Shop Boys, what have I done to deserve this!?
I can't hide the contempt I have for these people. How fucking stupid must they be to go on holiday, knowing they return the day before completion, and not even thinking to get anything sorted before leaving.
Earlier this week their solicitor told ours that they had an appointment today to do the signing. Turns out this wasn't true at all and they've not seen them.
We've rung our Estate Agents and they wink-wink "didn't" tell us their address. So, we've just been round and, sure enough, they're still on holiday. Their neighbour tells us they come back early hours of tomorrow morning. We left a note asking they call ASAP.
If they can get in to sign in the morning then all might be well.
Since beginning this post the whole thing has come crashing down. As if it weren't bad enough that they went on holiday so close to completion, it turns out the buyer's mortgage company are the only one in the country that require 5 day's notice for any monies. Their solicitor hasn't bothered asking for it yet! Oh no, she was too bust off sunning herself as well. We've also found out that their solicitor has been aiming for next Friday as completion date. What the hell is wrong with these people!
